Ways for Students to Get Involved
Safety
Patrol
Fifth grade students are members
of the Safety Patrol. Safety Patrol helps to put up and take
down the flag and
assists with hall duty, bus duty, and carpool duty. Please
contact Stella
Godin for additional information.
Student
Council
Student Council is for students in grades 3-5. One
student from each classroom will be nominated by their peers
to participate in Student Council this year. Student Council
will help run the recycling program, organize spirit days,
and be involved with community events. For more information,
contact Pam Reaume.

Leadership
Team
The North Forest Pines Leadership Team meets the first Tuesday of every month beginning
at 3:30 PM in the media center. This is an open meeting. If you would like
to attend please call the school at 570-2220 and let us know so we can get
you a copy of the agenda.

Improvement Committees
North Forest Pines has five School Improvement Committees (Literacy, Climate,
Differentiation, Math/Science/Technology, and PBS) that meet on the third Tuesday
of every month beginning at 3:30 PM. These are
also
open meetings. Please call the school if you would like to attend any of
these meetings.

WCPSS
E-Newsletter and Emergency Notification Sign-up
WCPSS has new electronic communication tools.
The web-based service allows interested parties to sign up
and manage subscriptions to WCPSS electronic newsletters
and emergency notification e-mails which alert you to an
unexpected school closing, delayed opening, early dismissal
or other critical system-wide news.
To receive e-newsletters and emergency
notification service emails, you need to create a new e-newsletter
Subscription Manager account. It’s
easy to create a password-protected account and sign up for the information
you’re interested in. Users can sign up with multiple email accounts
and tailor the subscriptions to meet their needs.

* The Classroom Connection: a twice monthly e-newsletter that reports on the
good news happening across the district as well as innovative techniques
teachers are using in the classroom

* Magnet Matters: a monthly e-newsletter about Magnet School programs in Wake
County
* WCPSS Press Releases distributed to the news media
* Emergency Notification: an e-mail alert in the event of an unexpected school
